LSU reached a first in Southeastern Conference history on Tuesday night when the Tigers’ men’s basketball team clinched at least a share of what is the school’s 10th league title in the sport.


By winning its 10th league title in men’s basketball, LSU is now the only school in SEC history to pull a “triple-double” — winning double-figure conference titles in the sports of football, men’s basketball and baseball.

LSU has won 13 conference titles in baseball, and 10 in both football and men’s basketball. Alabama is the only other school to in the SEC to have reached at least 10 league titles in two of the three sports of football, men’s basketball and baseball.

Overall, LSU has captured a total of 114 conference championships.
