WELL...the GAME ABSOLUTELY SUCKED.. WE got pummelled 44 to frickin 3...... and I swore that night ...on any other night...we'd beat those convicts from Miami...and when can we get those jokers again....

Yes it wasn't a dream LSU got killed by UGA... but wait... 17 years have passed since that night...many coaches have come and gone...many Miami players from that team may have even made parole by now...but here it is...the Peach Bowl has Selected LSU to face Miami... 17 years...I've waited for redemption....

the Grinch that Stole Christmas...2004 version...

ah..yes...its almost been a year since the Grinch Stole Christmas.. Now don't get me wrong I truly appreciate all the Nick Saban (the guy on the right in the pic above next to LSUAL) brought to Louisiana and LSU but the way it ended was a litte off (yes Nick your timing stinks). If the trauma of the event has clouded your memory...here's a little refresher. It was on Christmas DAY of 2004 that Nick made that decision to leave LSU and Louisiana for that other hurricane magnet known as south Florida to attempt to coach the spoiled overpaid 'athletes' of the Miami Dolphins (the 5th best team in the state of Florida).

So here we are a year later... Nick went on to lose one more game for the Tigers... in steps Les Miles and the Tigers are 10-2. Yes 10-2... tis not bad... .

Perspective...

It was all put into perspective for me the week after the debacle in Atlanta....I was at Drusilla Seafood in B.R...and what do I see on the wall... an autographed picture of Curley Hallman...yes fans ...we're much better off than "THE DARK TIMES" ....

Revenge for that 44-3 debacle in Tiger Stadium in 1988. Mike Archer's Tigers got slammed by Steve Walsh and the Convicts in what may have just been a late season hurricane.....

Two weeks...and 17 years later.....in the bowl soon to be called only the CHICK-FIL-A-Bowl (nice!!) ... we'll get to see what was pre-season last year billed as the potential matchup for the 2004 National Championship... well we know that didn't happen... but some writers are calling this one a potential pre-matchup of the 2006 National Championship Game.

It was ugly... 14 penalties... it was comfortable... chance of rain - NEVER, temperature around 55 degrees..... and it wasn't even close ...56-3. ..but it was in no way as ugly as that 'professional game played in Tiger Stadium 20 hours later.... The best stiff arm of that day... courtey of Tom Benson.... Hey Tom ..if you'd teach your players how to shove opposing defenders like you did that WWL news crew...your "team" might have a few more W's .... well enough of that... back to the Tigers... Great Job Matt Flynn....

North Texas has been one of the year's most bizarre flops with the running game not doing anywhere near what it was expected to, while dreams of another Sun Belt title will be gone with another conference loss.Why North Texas might win: The only possible chance North Texas has of keeping this within four touchdowns is if LSU decides to rest the starters after the first quarter. After intense battles with Florida and Auburn , the Tigers want to get a few good drives in, get up early, work on a few plays in live action, and go home. They're 104th in the nation in turnover margin giving away 15 so far on the year, so if the Mean Green can force a few early takeaways, it has a shot of keeping fans interested for a quarter. However ...Why LSU might win: North Texas doesn't score. The offense is the worst in America by a full 16 yards per game and hasn't scored more than two touchdowns in a game yet this year.
