Ticket Update....

Santa didn't bring tickets and the fundraiser has not been successful so LSU is partying it up tailgate style at home... oh well..at least the bathroom has less of a chance of flooding than a Superdome bathroom (not a Katrina reference...if you've been to the dome you've no doubt experienced this...)..anyhow..

The Battle of the Mascots... Mike won...

It's (almost) Gameday...by Jill....

Taken from the archives, dusted off and retooled for 2007…

The bright white lights are twinkling
In the cool December breeze
There’s neither an icicle nor a snowflake in sight
On Canal Street’s sparkling Palm trees

It’s been a wacky crazy roller coaster season
And we still found our way to the Superdome
We goin’ to the Ship, baby
And it’s so much sweeter to play at home

The Vols couldn’t spoil our party
Beckwith sealed the deal with a pick
And now Herbstreit’s rumors are finally put to rest
We all knew Les wouldn’t pull a Nick

The tickets are so precious few
Find a barstool or your favorite comfy chair
All over the world the parties will be plentiful
LSU is everywhere

Friends and neighbors will gather
To cheer for the Purple and Gold
They’ll raise glasses to toast their Fighting Tigers
As they watch the Championship unfold

Season’s Greetings all you Tigers
May your days be merry and bright
Santa might be wearing red on Christmas
But January 7th, his jersey will be white

It’s just 2 more weeks until Gameday
Let’s count down till we do it again
Trophy raised, streamers falling and Jim Hawthorne saying...
"My, my, my! Tigers Win! Tigers Win!"

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Wow...didn't see that one coming..

Petrino resigns from Atlanta Falcons to coach Arkansas
7:45 p.m. - ATLANTA (AP) -- Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta Falcons coach on Tuesday, having lasted only 13 games with the NFL team. A person within the league told The Associated Press that Petrino quit to return to the college ranks at Arkansas. He had only left Louisville in January, agreeing to become Falcons coach for a five-year, $24 million contract handed out by a team that felt he could help star quarterback Michael Vick reach his full potential.....

SEC West Coaching is getting ridiculous......

The drama continues.... this is ridiculous....

Published: Dec 11, 2007 - UPDATED: 5 p.m.
LSU coach Les Miles denied once again Tuesday he is interested in filling Michigan's head coaching vacancy.
Miles, who is spending this week recruiting for LSU, released a statement Tuesday in response to a report in the Detroit Free Press that the Tigers' coach had spoken with Michigan athletic director Bill Martin and school president Mary Sue Coleman late last week.
"I had a conversation with Michigan last week that covered a wide range of topics. I was doing nothing more than helping them with their search for a football coach, just as any loyal alumnus might do. It was nothing more than that," Miles said.
"I'm not a candidate for that job and I will not be a candidate for the job," Miles said. "I was only assisting them in their search for a coach. I have a great job at a wonderful place, a place that my family calls home. It's time that Michigan goes on with their search for a football coach. I'll say it again, I'm going to be the coach at LSU next season."

$%^&!!!!!!!

Dear Mr. LSUal,

Thank you for your show of support for LSU Football by requesting tickets to the 2008 BCS National Championship Game.

The number of National Championship Game tickets requested by LSU fans has exceeded the supply made available to LSU, and as a result, the LSU Priority Point System was used to determine the distribution of tickets. Unfortunately, because of the high demand, your request was not able to be filled.

2008 National Championship Game tickets were distributed in the following manner:

LSU Priority Point Rank (as of 10.31.07)
Maximum Number of Tickets Awarded

Why I love the BCS...

Without the BCS we’d be treated right now to the media talking about the winner of the Rose bowl being the NC – it would be Ohio State vs USC.

Without the BCS LSU would be playing Va Tech in the Sugar Bowl and we’d be non-excited about playing a team we beat by 7 touchdowns. A team worse than Miss. St. Or we’d see a rematch with OK.

I Love the BCS.

Without the BCS the 2003 Champion would be USC…..because the media would have focused in on the Rose Bowl again.

Without the BCS the championship last year would have been a match between USC and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

COULD IT BE????

http://www.bcsguru.com/ is predicting the following...

OHIO STATE vs. LSU
AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2007) -- The season of upsets brought up one fine ending ... and a fine mess. But the BCS Guru projects that Ohio State and LSU, two teams that occupied the top spot of the BCS standings for much of the season, will meet in New Orleans in the BCS national championship game.
Ohio State will be a comfortable No. 1 against LSU, which will edge out Virginia Tech (No. 3) and Georgia (No. 4) and Oklahoma (No. 5) for the spot. The Tigers' early-season rout of the Hokies, and the victory over a Tennessee team that blew out Georgia should put them over the top.
More to follow ...

BCS NC GAME???

Here me out...

1 and 2 are thru...

#3 is Ohio State and they're in
#4 is UGA - Didn't win their division or their conference
#5 is Kansas - yes they have only 1 loss, didn't win their conference or division and only beat one ranked team
#6 is Va. Tech - they won their conference. They have two losses. But how the HELL do the get ranked ahead of LSU??? LSU beat them by 41 points. That almost seven touchdowns

#7 - LSU - HOW DO WE NOT GET IN THERE???? 7-1 against ranked teams. Face a GDMF Heisman candidate in 5 games. Tebow, KY QB, McFadden, Ainge (was one early in the season), Glenn (va Tech) ..he was one early in the season.

BCS WILL EXPLODE KNOW MATTER WHAT THEY DECIDE

Call your congressman.....call your doctor

TAKE THAT FULMER! FEAR THE HAT! SEC CHAMPS!

WOW!! It's wasn't pretty...but it was pretty effective!!!

The Hat Stays!

Hester Runs for 120

Perilloux gets the MVP

...and the Defense comes thru with the winning score!!!

LSU 21

Tenn 14

Les Is Gone, Les Stays, Les confuses...

Cue The Clash song "Should I Stay or Should I go?"

The 12:50 Press Conference Les Miles text Below:

"There was misinformation on ESPN and I think it's imperative that I straighten things out. I'm the head coach at LSU. I will be the head coach at LSU. I have no interest in talking to anybody else. I got a Championship game to play and Im excited about the opportunity for my damn strong football team to play in it. That's really all i have to say. It was unfortunate that I had to address my team with this information this morning. But that being done, I think we'll be ready to play. There will be no questions for me. I represent me in this issue. Please ask me after. I'm busy. Thank you very much and have a great day"
