West Virginia led by new Coach Dana Holgersen. Well there's a story there…it seems he was hired to be the Offensive Coordinator for WVU behind the back of the head coach. Head Coach hired a reporter to dig up dirt on Holgersen and prior arrests...…news gets out… Coach fired, new coach promoted… wow it’s a soap opera in the mountains.. but anyhow…

West Virginia famous not for its mountains or team but more for its rowdy fans who win or lose burn couches in disgust or celebration…. I kid you not. So out of control that they have new laws in effect this year along with a beefed up Fire Department ready….

WVU escaped BR last year with a narrow 17-14 defeat on perhaps Jordan Jeffersons worst game as a Tiger…a mere 10 / 25 for 75 yards… bad…bad…bad.

WVU returns the spread offense lead by Geno Smith..you remember him…he lined up under the guard last year instead of center on a critical drive in Tiger Stadium last year… he’s a better passer than runner and now them Mountaineers have the #7 passing game in all of college football…they need to ..their running game is 107th!!

Dear Tiger Fans,

Tiger Stadium is known as one of the most intimidating arenas for opposing teams in the sporting world, a reputation that has been well-earned because of the passion of our fans.

Tiger Stadium is at its best when it roars as one voice in support of the Tigers. But when some among the crowd are vocally disapproving of our own players or coaches, it is detrimental on many levels. It impacts the morale of the players, it reflects poorly on our reputation, it sends a poor message of sportsmanship to the young people in the crowd and it delivers a negative message to recruits in attendance.

As the Tigers play on national television against Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, I hope the Tiger Nation will be at its best. The crowd at Tiger Stadium is the best 12th man in all of college football, and in the highly-competitive Southeastern Conference, our Tigers need every ounce of support.

We are 4-0 and ranked as high as No. 10 in the nation and we are heading in to the most challenging portion of our schedule. Let’s keep the momentum going.

Third thing...the Hat is 51-15 as LSU Coach. That's not too shabby but nobody is showing the love... it's the 'what have you done for me lately' syndrome... and yes... TIME TO PUT UP or.... well find a new source of income Leslie.....

but I digress... I'm putting on the Purple and Gold Glasses now....

I would be really scared if this was basketball...but come on... ACC football??? and there's a great chance that they'll be without several starters due to them trying to impersonate the cheating ways of Bama?? It don't matter Tigers vs. Tar Heals.... TIGERS HANDS DOWN!!! THIS IS SEC FOOTBALL!! THIS IS LSU!!! (LSU leads the series 5-1!!) That one loss was in 1949 and the refs were horrendous cheating Bama lovers....

Led by Butch Davis of Cheating Miami, losing Cleveland Browns and nervous breakdown fame... Get the man some Zantac...he's gonna need it saturday. We'll find out at gametime if he has 2 or 9 starters benched thanks to his ...uh.. "Nanny" writing papers for his 'scholar' athletes.. .anyhow... even if the do show up their offense will be led by the least mobile QB in all of college football....

JJ is back at QB ..and really his numbers aren't that bad ...9-4 as the starter...and will be the first 2 year starter for LSU since Jamarcus "I lika da Codeine" Russell. The offensive line will be much improved.... HOW COULD IT NOT BE?? ...thus...a running GAME!!! The best WR corps in nation hands down will lead the Tiger Offense...Tolliver...Randle...Shepard.... and yes Von Crowton is back...but he's due to break the slump....

Louisiana Tech (3-6) at LSU (7-2), 7:00 EST, Saturday, November 14, ESPNU

Why to watch: Both teams are coming off of crushing conference losses, with LSU losing a battle at Alabama as hard hitting and as rough as any SEC game this year, and with Louisiana Tech roaring back to give Boise State a hard time in the second half in a 45-35 home loss. The Bulldogs have to win out to be bowl eligible, and that’s not going to happen with a trip to Fresno State up next week before closing out with a near-certain win against San Jose State. LSU is beaten up and is way due to come up with a mediocre performance in a meaningless game. The Tigers can’t go to the BCS, Alabama and Florida will take up the SEC’s two spots, and the rest of the league is just bad enough that they can go through the motions and end up with a New Year’s Day bowl. The real work comes next week at Ole Miss and closing out against Arkansas, and if LSU suffers an upset, nothing will be bruised but a few egos.

Why Louisiana Tech might win: Does LSU really have the SEC’s worst offense? Yes, and it’s not going to get a lot better with star RB Charles Scott out for the year with a broken clavicle and with QB Jordan Jefferson hobbling with an ankle injury. The team’s focus is going to be almost completely on Ole Miss, and the last thing it can afford is to not have Jefferson over the final two games. Does that mean more Jarrett Lee under center? If so, Louisiana Tech, with its ability to hang on to the ball, has a good chance to make this interesting. The mediocre LSU attack won’t get any freebies; it’ll have to score on long drives.

Why LSU might win: LSU’s defense might not be getting into the backfield and it might not be hitting the quarterback, but it should be able to tee off on the Bulldog running game. Against WAC teams, having a few speedsters like Phillip Livas and Daniel Porter can make all the difference, but that’s not going to work this week against the ultra-athletic Tiger D. Louisiana Tech’s wins have come against Nicholls State, Hawaii, and New Mexico State, all at home. This has been a disappointing year for the Bulldogs, and they have yet to prove they can beat someone with a pulse.

Who to watch: So now what is the LSU running game going to do without Scott? He ran for 83 yards against Alabama averaging 6.4 yards per carry, and now it’s going to take a slew of players to try to get the ground game going. Stevan Ridley got two carries and came up with a nice score against Alabama, Russell Shepard went nowhere, but will keep getting the ball, and Trindon Holliday will likely be used in a variety of ways. Ridley will likely be the main man now, with good size, nice power, and nice moves considering he’s coming off a knee injury. This is the sophomore’s chance to shine, and he needs to make the most of the opportunity.
What will happen: LSU will be uninspired, will want to get several backups in early, and it’ll still win without too much of a problem after Tech comes up with a few early scores.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- With 5:54 remaining in Alabama's 24-15 win against LSU, Tigers cornerback Patrick Peterson appeared to intercept Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy between LSU's 31 and 32-yard lines. At the time, LSU trailed Alabama by six points.

Officials initially ruled that Peterson caught the ball out of bounds, but the immediate reaction along the LSU sideline suggested another look was in order. Referee Thomas Ritter announced the play would be reviewed. While replay official Gerald Hodges reviewed video of the play, CBS showed several replays that appeared to show Peterson getting not one, but two feet down before falling out of bounds. After several minutes, Ritter announced that Hodges had upheld the call on the field.

"When I caught the ball, I tried to get two feet in. I believe I got two feet in," Peterson said. "Definitely, the foot mark was left on the field. Not even on the white. It was on the green."

After interviewing Peterson, I returned to the field, where I snapped a few photos of a small gash in the field between the 31- and 32-yard lines. A video replay confirmed that this was the same spot where Peterson caught McElroy's pass. There is no way to confirm that Peterson's foot made the mark; it could have been made at any point during the game. But judging by video replays, Peterson's left foot --which landed first -- would have made an identical mark on the disputed play.
