GAMEDAY ADVISORY FROM LSU

BATON ROUGE – Due to the large number of people expected to be on the LSU campus Saturday for the football game between No. 4-ranked LSU and No. 1-ranked Florida, LSU has issued an advisory to fans on a number of issues:

PRE-GAME

• Fans are encouraged to arrive early and to carpool when possible to reduce the number of vehicles on the LSU campus. Fans are advised that some grass lots may be unusable depending on the amount of rain prior to game day. Grass lots with gravel travel lanes such as the Levee Lots on River Road and the Hayfield Lot on Gourrier Avenue should be usable on game day.

• Fans should beware of counterfeit tickets which are common for major sporting events such as Saturday’s game between two Top Five teams. Fans should only purchase tickets from family or close personal friends or the LSU Ticket Marketplace at LSUsports.net. Tickets can be authenticated by taking them to the LSU Ticket Office.

• ESPN GameDay will originate from the LSU Parade Ground beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. Fans are encouraged to attend and be vocal. Glass containers are not permitted on campus and broken glass can be particularly dangerous on the Parade Ground.

• Zatarain’s Tiger One Village, LSU’s hospitality and entertainment village in front of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, will get underway with a band starting at 1 p.m. followed by local favorite Cowboy Mouth starting at 2:45 p.m.

• The Tiger Athletic Foundation Party in the Maravich Center starts at 3:30 p.m. for TAF members.

• The LSU football team will arrive on Victory Hill at 5 p.m. and the Tiger Band will march down the hill at approximately 5:15 p.m.

• LSU students should enter the stadium early to avoid long lines.

TAILGATING

• Fans are reminded to leave travel lanes open in parking lots when tailgating. Tents are not permitted in travel lanes or on sidewalks.

• No grilling should take place on ornamental concrete, brick pavers or exposed aggregate, building entrances, patios or covered walks where drippings can stain surfaces.

• Tailgaters are encouraged to bag their trash for pickup by LSU Facility Services.

• Buildings on campus that are available for restroom use will open at 11 a.m. Not all campus buildings are open on game days and fans should not attempt to enter buildings that are closed.

SECURITY

• Fans should arrive early to their seats as heightened security measures may cause delays at the gates as bag checks and other security procedures are enforced.

• Backpacks, coolers and other containers are not permitted in Tiger Stadium. Bags larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches are not permitted for security reasons.

• Backpacks, coolers and other bags should not be left unattended. These items will be confiscated if left unattended.

• Fans are encouraged to minimize the number of personal items they bring into the stadium to reduce the waiting time at gates.

GAME

• Kickoff is scheduled for approximately 7:10 p.m. LSU encourages fans to use good sportsmanship, no foul language and to create a positive atmosphere for families and young people attending the game.

• Fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game. The LSU-Florida game has been designated as the annual “Gold Game” for Tiger fans as the game will be nationally televised by CBS. Gold LSU shirts can be purchased at retailers throughout the region, as well as the LSU SportShop next to Mike the Tiger’s habitat daily and on game day.

• The Pete Maravich Assembly Center will be available for a free view-in of the game for fans without tickets to the game. Concession stands and restrooms will be open and cheerleaders will be on hand. Doors open at 6 p.m.

• The jersey of LSU All-American Tommy Casanova will be retired between the first and second quarters of the game.

POSTGAME REMINDER - SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC

Nicholson Drive

• Vehicles leaving campus via Nicholson Drive are encouraged to use Burbank Drive to proceed south. Vehicles can reach I-10 by proceeding south to Bluebonnet Blvd. or Siegen Lane.

• Local Traffic only should proceed south on Nicholson Drive.

Vehicles can then reach I-10 by turning right onto Nicholson, left onto Bluebonnet, then right on Bubank to Siegen Lane.
