It feels like everything's a mess
It was supposed to be a tough one
But not a burning, flaming crash
I spent the '90's watching bad football
It is not something I wish to rehash
Clichés are fill for press conferences
But words are not a shield
When you can't explain or justify
The product on the field
So it's time to circle the wagons,
Rally the troops and take one game at a time
We all know defense wins championships
And these things can turn on a dime
But who will be this week's opponent?
What colors will they wear?
Just please, no purple pants
The flashbacks would be too much to bear
A golden opportunity is waiting
On this gumbo weather Saturday night
Don't look back, move forward
Don't ever go down without a fight
Good seasons can come from bad losses
Winning is sometimes what adversity breeds
Archer knows how to lose in Tiger Stadium
And a flashback is exactly what he needs
