It's (almost) Gameday...by Jill....
The bright white lights are twinkling
In the cool December breeze
There’s neither an icicle nor a snowflake in sight
On Canal Street’s sparkling Palm trees
It’s been a wacky crazy roller coaster season
And we still found our way to the Superdome
We goin’ to the Ship, baby
And it’s so much sweeter to play at home
The Vols couldn’t spoil our party
Beckwith sealed the deal with a pick
And now Herbstreit’s rumors are finally put to rest
We all knew Les wouldn’t pull a Nick
The tickets are so precious few
Find a barstool or your favorite comfy chair
All over the world the parties will be plentiful
LSU is everywhere
Friends and neighbors will gather
To cheer for the Purple and Gold
They’ll raise glasses to toast their Fighting Tigers
As they watch the Championship unfold
Season’s Greetings all you Tigers
May your days be merry and bright
Santa might be wearing red on Christmas
But January 7th, his jersey will be white
It’s just 2 more weeks until Gameday
Let’s count down till we do it again
Trophy raised, streamers falling and Jim Hawthorne saying...
"My, my, my! Tigers Win! Tigers Win!"
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And
Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Wow...didn't see that one coming..
7:45 p.m. - ATLANTA (AP) -- Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta Falcons coach on Tuesday, having lasted only 13 games with the NFL team. A person within the league told The Associated Press that Petrino quit to return to the college ranks at Arkansas. He had only left Louisville in January, agreeing to become Falcons coach for a five-year, $24 million contract handed out by a team that felt he could help star quarterback Michael Vick reach his full potential.....
SEC West Coaching is getting ridiculous......
The drama continues.... this is ridiculous....
LSU coach Les Miles denied once again Tuesday he is interested in filling Michigan's head coaching vacancy.
Miles, who is spending this week recruiting for LSU, released a statement Tuesday in response to a report in the Detroit Free Press that the Tigers' coach had spoken with Michigan athletic director Bill Martin and school president Mary Sue Coleman late last week.
"I had a conversation with Michigan last week that covered a wide range of topics. I was doing nothing more than helping them with their search for a football coach, just as any loyal alumnus might do. It was nothing more than that," Miles said.
"I'm not a candidate for that job and I will not be a candidate for the job," Miles said. "I was only assisting them in their search for a coach. I have a great job at a wonderful place, a place that my family calls home. It's time that Michigan goes on with their search for a football coach. I'll say it again, I'm going to be the coach at LSU next season."

THE SCHEDULE...IF YOU DARE....
blah blah.... now to to the important one....
*Jan. 7 BCS National Championship at New Orleans, Ohio State (11-1) vs. LSU (11-2), 8 p.m.(FOX)
Why I love the BCS...
Without the BCS LSU would be playing Va Tech in the Sugar Bowl and we’d be non-excited about playing a team we beat by 7 touchdowns. A team worse than Miss. St. Or we’d see a rematch with OK.
I Love the BCS.
Without the BCS the 2003 Champion would be USC…..because the media would have focused in on the Rose Bowl again.
Without the BCS the championship last year would have been a match between USC and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

COULD IT BE????
OHIO STATE vs. LSU
AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2007) -- The season of upsets brought up one fine ending ... and a fine mess. But the BCS Guru projects that Ohio State and LSU, two teams that occupied the top spot of the BCS standings for much of the season, will meet in New Orleans in the BCS national championship game.
Ohio State will be a comfortable No. 1 against LSU, which will edge out Virginia Tech (No. 3) and Georgia (No. 4) and Oklahoma (No. 5) for the spot. The Tigers' early-season rout of the Hokies, and the victory over a Tennessee team that blew out Georgia should put them over the top.
More to follow ...
BCS NC GAME???
1 and 2 are thru...
#3 is Ohio State and they're in
#4 is UGA - Didn't win their division or their conference
#5 is Kansas - yes they have only 1 loss, didn't win their conference or division and only beat one ranked team
#6 is Va. Tech - they won their conference. They have two losses. But how the HELL do the get ranked ahead of LSU??? LSU beat them by 41 points. That almost seven touchdowns
#7 - LSU - HOW DO WE NOT GET IN THERE???? 7-1 against ranked teams. Face a GDMF Heisman candidate in 5 games. Tebow, KY QB, McFadden, Ainge (was one early in the season), Glenn (va Tech) ..he was one early in the season.
BCS WILL EXPLODE KNOW MATTER WHAT THEY DECIDE
Call your congressman.....call your doctor
TAKE THAT FULMER! FEAR THE HAT! SEC CHAMPS!
Les Is Gone, Les Stays, Les confuses...
Cue The Clash song "Should I Stay or Should I go?"
The 12:50 Press Conference Les Miles text Below:
"There was misinformation on ESPN and I think it's imperative that I straighten things out. I'm the head coach at LSU. I will be the head coach at LSU. I have no interest in talking to anybody else. I got a Championship game to play and Im excited about the opportunity for my damn strong football team to play in it. That's really all i have to say. It was unfortunate that I had to address my team with this information this morning. But that being done, I think we'll be ready to play. There will be no questions for me. I represent me in this issue. Please ask me after. I'm busy. Thank you very much and have a great day"

It's Gameday by Jill (SEC Championship Edition)!!!!
Your pain is real, it’s deep and wide
The questions…what might have been
Was Flynn really hurt? Should 11 have played?
That nightmare of a 4th and 10
The Christmas season is here again
And it looks like Coach Miles is going home
There’s one last gift he owes the Tigers
He can wrap it Saturday, in the Georgia Dome
The rumor mill is at fever pitch
My sources say it’s absolutely, dead-on true
Spurrier, Tubby, Saban and Sexton
Are definitely the next coaching staff for LSU
There’s a game this week so let’s talk football
The surprising opponent is Tennessee
There’s a pretty big prize riding on this one
So let’s go win the SEC
What is it about the Georgia Dome
That allows Tiger quarterbacks a fabulous debut?
Both Mauck and Flynn have danced in that spotlight
And now the stage may be yours, Mr. Perrilloux
Hey! Somebody bring back the defense!
They’ve been hiding but we know those guys are still around
We believe in their blitz, their hits and their picks
Let’s see Ainge feel the pain and hit the ground
Who out there loves this crazy team? C’mon don’t lie, you know you do
They have the heart to fight to the end
And you have the heart to cheer them through
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!
SEC CHAMPIONSHIP RANT.....
A bizarre and humiliating loss at home post turkey day to the now Nutt-less Ar-Kansas team... pick up the pieces Tigers... long shot for BCS glory remains (nevermind Lou Holtszh just gave Pitt the pep talk..certain doom for them)...... but more important goal remains - WIN THE SEC!!!
The Most Talented Team in the SEC for the third straight year needs to win the SEC.
DO IT!!! Last SEC game for Dorsey, Hester and Company. Flynn may be out (hurt his shoulder on the 15 yard Hail Mary at the end of regulation) ..so in comes #11. Okay Perilloux....time to put up or shut up. This is your stage... NOW TAKE IT!! Go for The Glory. You said you'd win the Heisman...well here's step one..impress me. Trindon returns and that's a good thing as does Ricky Jean-Francois...just in time the DL needs some help.
WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN?
Had I written this three days ago...wouldn't have been what you TigerFans have come to expect....you see I lost a little faith.... I lost a little hope....I didn't believe..... but then I realized something...Phil Fulmer is on the opposing sideline....I don't Fear Phil Fulmer. Tenn-uh-cee may have won their overtime game last week by going into a fourth period with Kentucky but that was a day later than the LSU-Arky Game....Tenn should be tired. It's going to be a battle of tired and worn out teams.... My Money's on the Team with Tommy Moffitt the best conditioning guy on the planet... GEAUX TIGERS!!! This isn't about the coaches it's about LSU.
Perilloux hands off to Hester, Scott, Williams, runs a little option, pitches to Holiday, throws to Byrd, Lafell, Doucet and not to Tenn-uh-cee. Dorsey (back spasms and all) leads the defense on a quest to recapture the swagger, the pride, the prize, the eye of the tiger returns. Ainge gets rattled, Tenn gets bit by the turnover bug and it's VICTORY FOR LSU!!!!
PREDICTION
LSU - 37
Tenn - 24
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
Geaux to hell Ole Miss bye the way!!!..hiring Houston...that's nutts!!!

Okay...this is important... prior to 2001 the Tigers last SEC Crown was in 1988.

DISASTER!!!
Still a show for the SEC Championship.....
Dear Nebraska,
Please hire Bo Pelini!!!
The defense scheme over the last 5 games has been very Tepperesque. Friggin horrible. 4th and 10 in overtime and he rushes 3 at C. Dick. Bo...sir...you are a moron. GO!! Please Go!!
Hire Will Muschamp back from Auburn. His defense only allowed Arkansas to score 6 points.

.From collegefootballnews.com I love the last line."
For all you LSU fans worrying about the distractions with the Michigan head coaching job opening up, let me help you sleep well tonight. Les Miles absolutely, positively will NOT be the next head football coach at the University of Michigan. We’re talking about IBM here. We’re talking about North Carolina basketball. We’re talking about a football program that’s the equivalent of a dish of vanilla ice cream topped off with a vanilla wafer while being cheered on by 111,941 fans about as boisterous as a glass of warm milk. Miles would be a double dose of rainbow sprinkles, and that's not Michigan football. Michigan basketball changed the way the college game looked and acted with the Fab Five, but again, that’s not Michigan football. Miles speaks his mind in a fun, harmless way and is never afraid to stir the pot a little bit. While that might be what Michigan needs, it’s not really what it wants. Unless Miles can prove he can be a bit more button-down, like 1992 David Letterman moving from late night to 11:30, he’ll be keeping his Baton Rouge address.I’m a Miles fan. He stepped into a nearly impossible situation at LSU and took what Nick Saban did and made it better. I don’t care if Saban left behind the New England Patriots; if you’re 32-5 with (what will be) two BCS appearances and two SEC Championship games in three years, you’re doing just fine. However, it seems like he should be doing more.As good as LSU has been this season, should it have needed a miracle late play to beat Auburn? Shouldn’t it have blasted Kentucky? Do you really trust this team in a huge road game under Miles after struggling so much with Alabama, getting a fight from Ole Miss, and losing two of the four road tests last year? With all the NFL speed and athleticism, and all the experience, shouldn’t this be an epic juggernaut of a team rather than the default BCS No. 1? It might sound harsh, but we might be talking about Dale Brown here; a superior gatherer of talent who’d probably get his coaching doors blown off by a Bobby Knight. Put it this way; if Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban were coaching this LSU team, and Miles was coaching this year’s South Carolina or Alabama teams, what do you think would happen? Would the games be as close as they were? Remember, whoever takes over at Michigan will be judged by what he does against Jim Tressel, who has turned into the Florida version of Spurrier.Raise your hand if you had heard of Tressel seven years ago? Remember, at the time, Glen Mason was a main man in the running for the Ohio State job before it went to a (gasp) D-IAA coach, and don’t be shocked if Michigan goes for a star-in-waiting who doesn’t have the big-time name recognition. No, it’s not going to be Les Miles wearing a Maize and Blue mock turtleneck, but it’ll be someone else who's really, really good losing to the Buckeyes every year while LSU is hanging out in the Sugar Bowl."
A&M and Meechigan...
Hey dumbass...I do thank you for yanking the hot QB in the first half so the crappy first teamer walk on can come in and throw a pass to Stelz.... Here's to you Coach "O" (real mean of genius) ...you Fred Einstein of the Gridiron...

Game Notes from lsusports.net
good stuff. If you have way to much freetime leading up to the game.
It's Gameday by Jill.....
In a small Mississippi town
Since 1960 whatever
They haven’t won a thing
And the way they’re going they’ll never
On the other side of the river
Prowl the Fighting Tigers of LSU
The #1 team in the nation
With some more of that crystal to pursue
The Tigers will be heading to Atlanta
To bring home the SEC crown
But on our way to the title
We have these others to take down
For the Rebs, they would love to play the spoiler
But they’re really more concerned about the chandelier
And how the flowers go with the candelabra
They love to play dress up and maintain their veneer
No messing around with Ole Missy
Go for the touchdown, run up the score
We have places to be and voters to impress
And really, who doesn’t deserve it more?

It's Gameday By Jill....
Grab your giant purple mum corsage
And a little tissue paper, too
It’s time for chicken wire and circumstance
It’s Homecoming at dear ole LSU
Take a drive down Sorority row
Check out the DKE house display
Sip cocktails from Styrofoam cups
Reminisce about your 7-year stay
Don’t lose sight of the game, though
This will be a very important win
We need to hang 50 on the visitors
Our BCS margins are a little thin
Let’s take a moment to savor last Saturday
Sure, we shouldn’t have to come from behind
But when Jones hit Wilson and Wilson hit the turf
The stars, as they say, aligned
Moral victories are for losers
So Bulldogs, don’t act like the Tide
Who sounded woefully like the greenies of Tulane
Do yourselves a favor and show a little pride
To all our Techster visiting fans
When we Tiger Bait, it’s all in fun
You guys be proud of your engineering school
And we’ll take care of Number One
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
